Few hours ago, Panasonic has activated the “Skype” application for 2010 VIERA Cast HDTVs (VT25, VT20, G25, and G20 Series). Henry Hauser, Vice President, Panasonic Display Group says;
“Adding Skype to Panasonic’s VIERA CAST IPTV offerings takes the role of the television to whole new level for consumers. Panasonic’s VIERA CAST-enabled HDTVs have truly become the hub of communication and connectivity in the consumer household enabling users to talk live via video to their family and friends right from the comfort of their couch”.
You can look the demo of this HDTV application at video below. If you wanna take the advantage of this application, just with $170 for Panasonic’s TY-CC10W (the web camera) that supports 720p video and VGA, packages 4 unidirectional mics, an echo canceling system, and and some beam-forming technology which allows you to get clear audio over a typical TV viewing within a range of 3 to 4 meters.
See? How cool is that? You can call your family out there or friends with only use a HDTV. This application is great.
